Meet The Doctor
Carter Blackham graduated from A.T. Still University in Mesa, AZ with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in August of 2013. In 2010, he received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis on strength and conditioning from Utah Valley University. His clinical experience includes orthopedic and nuero-rehabilitation spanning all age groups.
He recently worked at Hurricane Health and Rehabilitation where he provided therapy to patients with a wide variety of diagnoses, ranging from post-stroke to joint replacements to post-surgical rehab for fractures and tendon repairs and everything in between. He also continues to provide home health therapy services for those patients who are deemed homebound. Carter has a special interest in an Australian approach to manual therapy and orthopedic rehabilitation that focuses on identifying and treating the body structures causing pain and limitation as opposed to treating only the symptoms. He has taken several continuing education courses focusing on pain management, manual therapy, functional exercise training and postural training. He believes in a therapy-approach that is first and foremost patient-centered, and is dedicated to providing quality care and time to his patients. Carter is also contracted with and accepts most major insurance companies.
Carter originally hails from Gunnison, UT, where he graduated from Gunnison Valley High School in 2002 and played on both the football and baseball teams. In his free time, Carter enjoys spending time with friends and family in the outdoors and is an exercise enthusiast. He is very excited to be a part of the team at Aspen Falls Spinal Care Center to improve patients’ functional abilities and to provide a uniquely positive rehab experience.
